FAME. The superstardom we dream of and our quest to acquire it. We want to be iconic; living nostalgia, and we are obsessed with the rise and fall of the superstar. The road to fame is one made of a monstrous beast, somewhat like the yellowbrick road in Victor Flemming’s classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. We can be swallowed, consumed, or even killed on this road.Yet we still walk these dead end streets. Catherine’s (the woman I photographed) first words to me were “I have nothing left to loose because there is nothing in the world I want more…i’m going to be a star”. This is her struggle, which ultimately leads to death.
